Who Can Apply?
Are you an early-stage life-science start-up, with a sustainable business proposition based on great science? Do you have the passion, motivation and staying power to stress test your ideas at one of Europe’s best-connected campus’ in Europe? Is now the right time for your venture – and you/your team – to be tested and challenged by leading industry and business experts, with the aim of honing your development to confidently state your case to investors genuinely interested in supporting your science? IF THE ANSWER IS YES, READ ON!
The Application Criteria & Process: 2023 Applications CLOSED.
To apply you must:
- Fill in as much of the form as possible and get in touch if you have any questions at all about the application form or process.
- Have a life science sector focus, eg: therapeutics, life science tools & technologies or any transformative healthcare solution.
- Be an early stage start-up, ie having not yet raised over £1.5M in funding/investment.
- Ideally, be a team of at least two.
- Be able to attend an interview in Cambridge, UK on 30th or 31st March 2023 if selected as a finalist.

Be able (and eligible) to be in Cambridge, UK for the duration of the programme including: bootcamp 24th-28th April 2023, weekly workshops, seminars and scrums and 1-to-1 support from 24th April until mid-July 2023 and if access to lab space is awarded from July 2023 to April 2024.

And finally…! Your idea will have the potential to make a significant impact on your target market and you must have an over-riding passion for life science and healthcare.

The closing date for applications is 1700hrs on 17th March 2023. Short-listed applications will be notified on 24th March 2023.
- Short-listed applicants will be asked to fill in a questionnaire to self-assess their proposal in 12 key drivers of growth. This must be returned before interview.

Interviews will take place on the 30th and 31st March 2023, exact time tbc.

The successful five companies will be notified at the beginning of April.

The 2023/2024 Accelerate@Babraham programme will start with Bootcamp from the 24th - 28th April 2023 at the Babraham Research Campus.

New for 2023!
Participants will benefit from two new partnerships, specifically formed to strengthen and enhance delivery of the programme:
- The Medicines Discovery Catapult will bring additional experience and capabilities in pre-clinical and clinical therapeutic development.
- Application of the Triple Chasm Company framework will enable companies to self-assess their proposition in 12 key areas of growth. As well as diagnosing potential gaps, the framework will provide insight and reduce bias across the programme. The resulting commercialisation intensity profile and visualisation tool will benefit companies in many ways, including facilitating discussions with investors.
